Connect SuperCognit to Windsurf

Windsurf's Cascade agent uses MCP servers from mcp_config.json. Add your SuperCognit workspace and Cascade can create and edit agents, build knowledge bases from your docs, register endpoints as tools and inspect conversations without leaving the editor.

Connection details

// ~/.codeium/windsurf/mcp_config.json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "supercognit": {
      "serverUrl": "https://mcp.supercognit.com/platform/<workspace>/mcp",
      "headers": { "x-api-key": "<api-key>" }
    }
  }
}

Replace <workspace> with the workspace slug shown under Integrations → Platform MCP, and <api-key> with a workspace API key when your client does not sign in with OAuth. Published MCP servers connect the same way at their own URL.

What you can do once it's connected

Keep tools and code in sync

When an endpoint changes, Cascade updates the SuperCognit tool definition in the same flow.

Docs into a knowledge base

Push the docs folder into the support agent's knowledge base and refresh it after releases.

Conversation debugging

Pull a transcript with its tool calls, find what went wrong and fix the tool or the instructions.

Agents per environment

Create a staging copy of an agent with the same tools pointed at your staging API, then promote the instructions.

How to connect

01

1. Copy your workspace MCP URL

Integrations → Platform MCP in the dashboard. One URL per workspace.

02

2. Open the MCP config

In Cascade's MCP panel choose Configure, which opens ~/.codeium/windsurf/mcp_config.json. Add a supercognit entry with serverUrl set to the workspace URL.

03

3. Add a workspace API key

Put the key in a headers object as x-api-key. Create keys under Integrations → API; a read-only key is enough for querying.

04

4. Refresh and use

Refresh the MCP panel; the SuperCognit tools appear in Cascade. It shows each call and asks before writes.

Frequently asked questions

Use a workspace API key — it works in every Windsurf version. If your version offers OAuth for remote servers, that works too.

In the per-user mcp_config.json, never in the repository. Rotate it from Integrations → API if it leaks.

Yes: use a read-only key, or keep a read-write key and rely on Cascade's approval prompts for writes.

Yes, at the server's own URL. They sign in with an email link; usage is metered per user and you can charge for access.

Your workspace, one MCP URL away

Create a workspace, copy the MCP URL from Integrations → Platform MCP, paste it into your agent — free for 7 days.
